Venture studio

A venture studio builds companies repeatedly, supplying the idea, the team, the product and the early resources itself, rather than investing in founders who arrive with their own. Some studios also build for outside clients.

What it means

Studios work on the idea that building companies is a skill that improves with repetition: the second venture benefits from what the first one taught. Their weakness is the same as their strength: a studio's judgement is only as good as its record, and records take years to build.

Anyone evaluating a studio, as a founder, an investor or a client, should look at how it labels its own work, and whether it publishes the results that would make it stop.

How we use it

Our method We're an AI-native product and venture studio, and we run our own ventures, otlo and apprn, through the same method we bring to every build, with their stages labelled honestly.
