Privacy policy

Who we are

graylemon.io is run by Graylemon Ventures Private Limited, a company based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India ("Graylemon", "we", "us"). We decide what happens to the personal data this policy describes. For anything in it, email hello@graylemon.io.

What we collect, and why

We collect what you choose to give us, plus the minimum a website needs to run.

• Visiting any page

  What

  Technical request data: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time. Our host, Vercel, processes it.

  Why

  To deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

• Subscribing to the Journal

  What

  Your email address and your consent. We send one email to confirm the address is yours, and send the Journal only once you have. We also note whether you've confirmed or unsubscribed, when, and which issue you last received, using a random code that stands in for you in the links in our emails.

  Why

  To send you the Journal until you unsubscribe, and never to anyone who didn't ask for it.

• Starting a Venture Diagnosis

  What

  Your name and email, your company or project if you give it, where the idea is now, what you're trying to decide, and whether budget is set aside.

  Why

  To reply, and to agree with you whether a Venture Diagnosis is the right next step.

• Sending a partnership inquiry

  What

  Your name, role and email; your agency's name and website; what your agency does and needs from us; your typical clients, expected volume and timing; your white-label requirements; and anything else you add.

  Why

  To reply, and to work out whether we're the right partner.

• With every form

  What

  The consent wording you agreed to; the page and button you used; the site that sent you here; any campaign tags in the link (utm_ parameters); and, if you chose "Accept all", how you first found the site.

  Why

  To know which pages lead to conversations, so we can improve what we publish.

• Booking a call

  What

  Calls are booked on Cal.com, which collects what you enter there. We add the page and section you came from, and how you found the site, to the booking.

  Why

  To prepare for the call.

• Sending a voice note or an email

  What

  The voice-note button opens WhatsApp, which carries your message and number to us. Emails reach our inbox with your address and what you write.

  Why

  To reply.

The Journal's emails carry no tracking pixels and no tracked links: we don't record whether you open an issue or which links you click. Links back to this site carry a campaign tag (utm_source=journal), which tells us a visit came from the Journal, not who made it.

We don't run an analytics tool today. The site is set up so that one could measure visits only after you choose "Accept all". If we add one, we'll update this page first.

Please leave sensitive details, such as health or financial information, out of the forms. We don't need them.

Storage on your device

We don't set cookies. The site keeps up to three small items in your browser's local storage:

• gl_consent

  What

  Your choice: "all" or "essential".

  When

  As soon as you choose. It's essential: without it, the site would ask again on every page.

• gl_first_touch

  What

  How you first found the site: the referring site or campaign tag, and the date.

  When

  Only after you choose "Accept all".

• gl_last_touch

  What

  How you found the site on your latest visit.

  When

  Only after you choose "Accept all".

Choosing "Essential only" deletes the last two. You can change your choice at any time, and clearing your browser's storage removes all three.

Who else handles it

A few services run parts of the site for us. Each handles data only to provide its service:

• Vercel hosts the site.
• Google receives form submissions (through Google Apps Script) and stores them in a Google Sheet in our account.
• Resend sends the Journal's emails, including the one that confirms your subscription. It receives your email address and the email itself, nothing else you've sent us.
• Cal.com runs call bookings.
• WhatsApp, from Meta, carries voice notes and messages.

These services may process data outside India, including in the United States. What you enter on Cal.com or WhatsApp is also covered by their own privacy policies.

We don't sell personal data or share it with advertisers, and we never publish anything you send us. If you're an agency, we never contact your clients. We'd disclose personal data to anyone else only where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• Journal subscriptions: until you ask us to remove you. When you unsubscribe we keep your address marked as unsubscribed, so we never email you by mistake; ask and we'll delete it entirely.
• Inquiries and bookings: for as long as we need them to reply and to run any work that follows, and for as long as the law requires us to keep business records.
• Storage on your device: until you change your choice or clear your browser's storage.

Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy
• correct it or complete it
• delete it
• stop using it for something you agreed to, by withdrawing your consent. This doesn't affect what we did before you withdrew it.

Email hello@graylemon.io from the address you used, so we can confirm it's you. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Children

This site is for businesses. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has sent us something, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

When what the site does changes, this page changes first. The date at the top shows the current version.
