Design system
A design system is the shared set of components, rules and decisions a product's interface is built from: colours, type, spacing, patterns and the code that implements them. It lets many people build screens that look and behave as one product.
What it means
Without a design system, every new screen reinvents buttons, spacing and states, and the product slowly stops looking like one thing. With one, designers and engineers draw from the same parts, and a change made once reaches everywhere.
A design system is only as useful as its handoff: components that exist in the design file but not in the code don't save engineering time. The best ones are built with engineering from the start.
How we use it
Our method In AI Creative Build, design systems come with component libraries built for engineering handoff, and with the rules that keep them consistent as the product grows. The otlo and apprn interfaces are our own product design work.
